  1. a veggie stir fry with rice noodles for dinner one night - yummy!
  2. Hey everyone, You know, I had joined the forum because it was great to find so many like-minded people who are on this journey of better health. I had said in my intro, (on Dec 31 during the 12 days of veganism), that I'm about 75-80% vegetarian. What I find interesting (and frustrating) is trying to get over that hurdle to completely convert. I'm pretty sure it's trying to break old habits. But how can I be quasi-veggie and not be able to convert fully? Maybe I'm nervous of "going all the way?" Has anyone here ever felt like that? Or do I just sound weird? I'm fine during the day; it's when I get home at night that I revert back to some old habits. Maybe I just need to give myself a little more time to digest it all (no pun intended!) lol Char
  3. Hey everyone! WHOOT!!! Can't wait to get started!! I'm already with a gym; this one has a "playground" atmosphere to it - so, plate pushing on the fake grass, running sprints, sled pulling, tires, ropes, that kind of stuff. I also joined a spinning group, which I'll do 2x a week. the weights, etc will be 3x a week. My trainer's provided me with my Phase I plan so I'll be working on that! Eating is going to be tougher, but I want to do it right!! Char
  4. My name is Charlene. I was introduced via FB to Robert, and seeing how passionate he is about fitness, eating well and being vegan caught my interest. I live in Toronto, Canada. I'm 47 (!). I had been pretty active for the last 6 years or so, but noticed that went downhill in a big way last year. I tried to get back into my fitness routine this past year, but it's been hit and miss. I'm with a gym, and recently joined a spinning class. I haven't started the spinning yet - that will be on Tues! I have a schedule planned out exercise wise, a combination of spinning and workouts, so I'll be following that. I also have an online trainer whose very supportive (and vegan!), who's been doing his damndest in getting me to convert at least to 100% vegetarianism. I'm about 75-80% vegetarian - still have some work to do! But I'm hoping this 2012 vegan/fitness lifestyle program that Robert started will be the kickstart to a new year! The prizes sound great, but my priority is to hopefully get some help with my eating and excerising goals. It sure is nice to have support from others who are going through the same thing as me (I hope!) Charlene P.S. I don't want to gross anyone out, but because of my age, I'm now going through "physiological changes", or the big "M". It's been a difficult journey, and I noticed how some of the symptoms had kept me from enjoying fitness like I once did.
