  1. Ok well the most gruesome injury I've had was a compund fracture of my left arm (that's where the bone comes through the skin)....I was hit by a minivan type of minibus, and got out of the way just in time not to get killed, but my arm got clipped.....the bone was sticking out about 6 inches, and I was in a bit of shock becasue my whole hand etc were just hanging there limp at a 90 degree angle..............they fixed it with a metal rod and it's ok now.......I've broken that and also playing football I broke the bone that is right next to a vein that feeds blood to your hand (clavicular ?) anyway that time they fixed it also but I ALMOST had to have the hand amputated...it was not fun...I bench about 250lbs max..I know I could do a LOT more weight, but because of those past injuries I don't want to push my luck. Also turf toe, that really really sucks....I have a golf ball sized peice of scar tissue in my right foot from a turf toe thing from playing, you guessed it football (at least I never injured my knee)..........I was also stabbed in the same foot buy my (soon tio be) ex wife and she cut the tendon that goes to the big tow on my right foot, so I can;t even move the big toe on my right foot at all, and it looks horrible........if I had a lot of $ I'd try and have it fixed a little...but it will never be like it was....that I know. The thing is you can train around almost any injury..............back injuries are the worst..............but whatever happens to you don't let it stop you.....life, like weight training is all about compensation, so hey maybe I could squat 4 plates...I don't know because I'm not going to try it........but then if your leg is in a cast or your hamstring is torn that is a great opportunity to work on the muscle groups you may have been neglecting...I LOVE training my forearms, and tricepts, which is what I did mainly while I had a cast on my leg and when I finally got the cast off my leg after a couple months of traing these muscle groups that I didn;' have time to deal with before....I was almost glad that the injury happened...almost. The worst injury you can imagine is to tear your achilles tendon...I saw a guy do that, and he got over it, but it was the most brutal, painful ugliest thing that I have ever seen...I wouldn't even wish that on a politician!!! Stay strong, and be healthy, it makes your workout easier
  2. The idea of the total body workout is to do high intensity (as much weight as you can handle) for low reps, one set to failure and work every body part each workout. Most people can do this in 90 minutes or so. The thing about this type of training is that for it to be effective (and it can be very effective if you don't want to spend 15 hours a week in the gym), you have to do three things.#1 train to absolute muscle failure (or beyond) so you really neeed someone to spot you because the idea is that you go to complete muscle failure. #2 you need to give yourself sufficient recovery time between workouts (this can be up to 72 hours), and #3 you need to slightly increase your calorie intake to get the best results........you also want to try and get as much sleep as possible because this is when your body repairs the broken down muscle tissue and when you grow leaner adn stronger muscles. Good luck........BTW high volume training is every bit as effective, but it is more time consuming, and you would want to split the routine like you have been doing....but if you do it right high intensity training can get you the same results with less time spent in the gym......the only downside is that you get a lot more muscle soreness when you train this way, and you should always do a warmup set with very light weights until you feel a good pump in the muscle, this helps to prevent injuries, because that way you can do one set to failure with the high intensity low rep set using a lighter weight so it reduces the risk of injury while training. Good luck
  3. I make my own vegan "gyros" eher I use avocado instead of meat...and either have to be creative for yogurt substitute, of go non vegan (which I admit I sometimes do) and use plain yogurt).....Man if you make one of these right it'd probably be my second favorite food in the world!! P.S> I envy you guys who can just go to trader joe's or whatever and get vegan yogurt or sour cream substitute....lucky S*b's......here you'd have to be a chemist....and a very dedicated chemist to come up with the same thing !! Cya....bon appetit
  4. I just made this and I'm eating it now (homemade vegan rye...lovin from the oven!)......Oh man...if you haven't done one of these for whatever reason, you owe it to yourself to make one (or more) and ENJOY!!

    Hi

My name is Bodhi Marhsall....I grew up in Eugene Oregon, and have lived for the past 10+(closer to 15 years) in the wonderful,. amd FREE country of Costa Rica. (I won't be returning to my homeland unless/until there is regime change or an open revolution that I could involve myself with...very sad)........I call myself a vegan but I'm more a 95% vegan I will occasionally eat baked goods that are not vegan. I have been involved with bodybuilding since I was in high school....I at one point was about 235lbs, 4% bf and I'm 5'9" or so...I was also for a time heaviilly involved in the use and sale of AAS..(if you don't know more power to you)......I became vegetarian about 5 yrs ago and have strived towards being a vegamn for about the las year and a half...with less than 100% sucsess...but I believe I'm living ethially to the best of my ability, and knowledge..... Nice to be here Bodhi
  11. I've been meaning to do the introduction thing I just haven't had time yet......I currently live on the beach in Manuel Antonio/Quepos, but I'm about to get divorced (unfortunately) so I'll probably be relocating to San Jose or maybe Monteverde (A great place, heaven on earth IMHO...everyone should go there at least once)......but my kids are here and so I'll be making the 4 hour drive unless I make a bunch of cash soon and can afford to pay for everyone to go on the plane (which is 20 minutes..and only about $50per person).......this is truly paradise part of it is that cars cost twice what they are worth 100% tax, and the roads are so terrible that you' d have to be a fool to buy a car here (there's one born every minute...kind of like carnivores)..........The good news is that there is always a taxi and they are CHEAP.......I went to visit my mother in Oregon in February and called a cab from a bar for obvious reasons...(I ran into some old friends and had a few beers with them leaving a rental car in a pay per hour parking lot)....so after a few beers I thought well, I'll get the car tomorrow.......it took about 45 minutes for the taxi to show up and they charged me about $40 to take me home (more than the daily fee for renting the car)...here you can just find a taxi anywhere, and they charge about $4 per hour.........so I own 3 cars and I don;t drive unless it's for a very good reason.......I guess this should be in the into section...anyway thanks and I'll post an intro later today most likely unless I just get of track go to the beach (1km from my house) and forget to do it until someone reminds me...but I'm a pretty responsible guy so I don't think that'll happen
  12. It's basiocally grade school math, you need to cut your calories, or burn more calories....running is great, but the best results you will see are probably going to come from switching away from nutrient dense foods.......if you eat a lot of broccoli, cabbage, zuchinni, with a little brown rice or potato, you'll be good, (if you want to eat what you ate before you need to be at the same activity level...or....you'll get some extra weight...which BTW is not the end of the world) it's just that you need to adjust your calorie intake based on your current activity level... (I know it's hard but if you want to see results that's the path to where you want to be) Goodluck
  13. Congratulations...i'm envious..... Udo won't ship his oil to where I live.....and my familly who could forward it to me thinks Udo is a freak............maybe someone could make a few bucks (I'm not wealty by any stretch of the imagination)...forwarding some of Udo's goods to me by mail (I'm in Central America) PS. You look great!
  14. IT'S ALL ABOUT bf% which is all about your metabolism....you loose a tiny % of fat and you'll probably look better than 85% of the people you see iin the gym.......just a few less calories, and keep the muscles strong.....piece of ......quorn lol!!
