Hello everyone. I am currently in Eugene Oregon and I am so glad to have come across this site. I have been Vegan for almost 3 years now. I'm 5'11" and approx 75lbs overweight, ugh. About a year before becoming Vegan i was on medication for hypothyroidism - Hashimoto's Syndrome to be exact, I had rheumatoid arthritis and I had just been told by my doctor she thought I had Lupus. When I became Vegan I was doing fantastic. I was healthy, exercising, I was off my medications, all of the auto immune disease symptoms went away and I lost about 35lbs. The problem was that I didn't find a support system right away. I didn't know anyone who was Vegan and I didn't seek out people that could help keep me motivated. I ended up where I am today which is zero exercise, I'm a junk food Vegan, my auto immune symptoms are almost all back, and I feel like crap pretty much every day. I struggle with motivation and I lack direction. I know I need help but I don't know where to go. I am normally a very happy and vibrant person but at the moment I am feeling pretty desperate. I am hoping to find an affordable Vegan Trainer that can help me get back on track. I know I need the guidance and support. I also know joining this site is step in the right direction.

Glad you are on board. I want to get to that point that I can go off of my hashimotos medicine. I do know what it is like to feel like crap with hashimotos. I have had to change some things around and really work on my diet. I would be glad to support you.

I did work with two great Vegan Trainers for a while. I wasn't losing weight, but then I got diagnosed with hashimotos, which explained why I wasn't losing anything. So now I am just trying to do my own thing. I have been following Six Weeks to Sexy Abs by Ella Magers( she is vegan) and I love it so far. I have had to change a few things to fit my food needs for my body, but for the most part I am using her book.

I usually get my workouts from Strong Magazine or Muscle and Fitness Hers and I love the workouts. I do better when I don't do too much cardio.

Thank you so much kathymtns! Luckily I don't think I am at the point where I have the full symptoms back, but I am having warning signs that I am off track and need to make some changes.

I really appreciate the support and your suggestions. I don't have a gym membership at the moment or the equipment at home, however I am hoping to take advantage of the New Years deals and get one soon. I will check out the publications too. I build muscle pretty fast and at one point for a short period of time I was training to be a boxer so I should have some muscle memory left.
