You know, this site could use a sub-forum under Health and Nutrition for raw foodism...

What would be said in that section which can't be said in the Health and Nutrition section? I worry about attracting raw foodists by having a specific forum for it, and it would also seem like VBB.com supports raw foodism by having a sub forum for it, like having a religion sub-forum... We don't prevent people talking about raw food on here, but there are other places on the internet to talk about eating exclusively raw food, with others who agree. Raw foodism is a war zone on this forum, it leads to so many arguments... like religion can

Had one. It attracted a lot of raw foodists. Some really nice people among them. Others were argumentative and vociferously argued false statements with highly educated and qualified people. After a while that chased the body builders, weight lifters and other athletes away.

I've had a number of nice conversations with the people who run 30bananasaday.com. Nice people, their forum is all about the raw stuff. You could give them a try.

Thanks for the quick replies. I get that some of the people in the raw food movement can sometimes be a little bit too "outspoken". I was just hoping to find a sub-forum that is specifically related to both raw food AND bodybuilding, particualrly since too many people find those concepts to be mutually exclusive.

Yeah, the trouble is the arguments. Pretty much everyone on this forum would say that raw fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds etc are really important for health, and would advocate them making up a large part of the diet. The trouble comes when you have people who insist that any cooked food is poison, and that everyone should eat 100% raw food... I know that there are many people who eat a raw food diet, or a high percentage raw, who are not argumentative, and who do not go out of their way to push their lifestyle on others. But, I don't want to attract the wrong people by having a section for it, and I know that is a shame in a way. Everyone is free to post raw recipes, and talk about raw diets and so on.

hm, yeah I was about to suggest this too lol

I see what you mean about the arguments. I mean, of course a raw vegan is different to a raw foodist, as a raw vegan avoid raw eggs, milk and meat/fish, so that distinction is important. Other than that.. yeah shame if people start getting a bit too pushy about it.

I kinda wish a section like this COULD work, but I understand if you don't want to make one again in any form :)

I'm with you all the way, superman. I wish there were a place like that, too. I'm one of those nonmilitant raw vegans who doesn't even tell people unless they ask. I say I love it and then change the subject quickly.

You know, a raw bodybuilding blog would be awesome. I've seen raw food blogs but not a bodybuilding one. Wordpress offers a ridiculously large assortment of free styles to choose from and they're easy to use. (Hey, if I can do it....) Click on my link below to see a sample of Wordpress.

It would be great I think if there were some way of making it work.

Raw is amazing, I really believe in it.

That being said though, I am so glad I've found this place! I feel quite at home here even though I never want to be REALLY muscly! Just feels like it's full of health and planet -conscious dudes who wanna be strong :D

Yeah it's awesome!

I'm a big fan of Markus Rothkranz and really wanna get my hands on his Raw Vegan Muscle DVD set as well as a few other things he's done. It's amazing how that guy has got results and also is health-conscious in all of his life from water quality to caloric intake to everything else :)

Taught me a lot! I'll let you know if the DVD set is good lol

You can talk about raw foods on the forum, if you want to start a thread to ask for raw recipes or whatever, please go ahead. We aren't excluding discussion on raw foods by not having a dedicated forum for it.
